Cancellation

Refunds regarding Admission Cancellation:

1. Students, who wish to cancel their admission within 10 days of admission, should give a written application to the Principal and produce the fee receipts. The Principal would consider the application, and after the consent of the Principal, 20% of the total fees would be deducted and the remaining amount would be refunded.

2. Students, who wish to cancel their admission within 30 days of admission, should give a written application to the Principal and produce the fee receipts. 40% of the total fees would be deducted and the remaining amount would be refunded.

3. Fees won’t be refunded if a student wishes to cancel the admission AFTER 30 DAYS.

4. To remove the name from the roll, a written application by parents is mandatory.

20 Savitribai Phule Pune Vidyapeeth Gunvant Vidyarthi Yojana You must follow the following eligibility criteria to apply for the scholarship:-

-Only girl candidates from Maharashtra are eligible for this scholarship.
-Candidates must belong to SC, VJNT, or SBC category.
-The candidates must be studying in the 5th to -10th classes in recognized Government schools.
-Candidates must have passed the previous year’s examination. 		Candidates’ caste certificates are issued by the competent authority www.unipune.ac.in
1.The Selections for Savitribai Phule Scholarship are made on the basis of merit. Attested copies of mark sheets of the last appeared examination
2.Girl candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance and hardworking skills. A photocopy of the first page of the candidate’s bank passbook
3.The final selection depends on the decision of the Assistant Commissioner of Social Welfare. A photocopy of the Aadhar Card

23 Handicapped Scholarship (Grantable and Non Gratable) For Pre-matric scholarship:-The annual income of the parents must not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh. The applicant must have more than 40% disability.   • The aim of the Placement Cell of the college is to place the students in competitively good companies by identifying the knowledge and skills of every individual student.

Anti-ragging Committee Cell

As Per UGC Regulations on curbing the menace of ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009 and Savitribai Phule Pune University Anti-Ragging Guidelines, Shri Siddhivinayak Mahila Mahavidyalaya has constituted the Anti-Ragging Committee to maintain the ragging free college campus and to provide safe and secure environment. The Committee includes faculty members and support-staff from different departments with students’ & parents’ representatives. The committee meets often to discuss the anti-ragging directives received from UGC and put them into action. It ensures the implementation of the preventive measure and undertakes frequent and surprise visits to ensure ragging free campus. This squad gives surprise visits to campus hostels too. Lectures and awareness programmes are organized by the college.

Objectives

  • To absolutely prohibit ragging within or outside the college campus
  • To sensitize students towards impact of ragging
  • To adopt measures that will prevent ragging
  • To punish those who indulge in ragging as per the Rules and Regulations of SPPU

What Constitutes Ragging

Ragging constitutes one or more of any of the following acts:

  1. Any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student.
  2. Asking any student to do any act which such student will not in the ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of such fresher or any other student.
  3. Indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student.
  4. Any act by a senior student that prevents, disrupts or disturbs the regular academic activity of any other student or a fresher.
  5. Any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on a fresher or any other student by students.
  6. Any act of physical abuse including all variants of it: sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, stripping, forcing obscene and lewd acts, gestures, causing bodily harm or any other danger to health or person.
  7. Exploiting the services of a fresher or any other student for completing the academic tasks assigned to an individual or a group of students.
  8. Any act or abuse by spoken words, emails, post, public insults which would also include deriving perverted pleasure, vicarious or sadistic thrill from actively or passively participating in the discomfiture to fresher or any other student.
  9. Any act that affects the mental health and self-confidence of a fresher or any other student with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student.

The punishment for ragging could be

  • Imprisonment
  • Permanent Expulsion from the institution
  • Suspension from the institution
  • Fine with a public apology
  • Fine
  • Withholding of any form of financial grant (scholarship etc)
  • Withholding of result of examination
  • Debarring from representation in college events

Powers and Functions

  • To uphold and comply with the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court and be vigilant on nay acts amounting to ragging.
  • To publicize to all students and prevalent directives and the actions that can be taken against those indulging in ragging.
  • To consider the complaints received from the students and conduct enquiry and submit report to the Anti- Ragging Committee along with punishment recommended for the offenders.
  • To oversee the procedure of obtaining undertaking from the students in accordance with the provisions.
  • To conduct workshops against ragging menace and orient the students.
  • To provide students the information pertaining to contact address and telephone numbers of the person(s) identified to receive complaints/distress calls.
  • To offer services of counselling and create awareness to the students.
  • To take all necessary measures for prevention of Ragging inside the Campus.

Extension Activities

Cultural

The college celebrates festivals such as Dahi-Handi, Bhondla, Deepotsav among others. The students are encouraged to participate in dance, drama, elocution, debate, poster making and such similar competitions arranged by the other colleges also. An annual social gathering is also conducted in the college.

The students are taken to various places such as Observatory, Sugar Industry, IUCAA, SPPU, Mapro Factory and Garden, British Library, Deccan College and also to some tourist places such as Shriharivardhan, Verul among others.

Anti Discrimination

University Grants Commission's Instructions to Universities to Prevent Caste-Based Discrimination in Higher Education

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a circular that if any official, professor, member of various authorities, non-teaching staff behaves discriminatory on the basis of caste to the students of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes pursuing higher education, a committee should be formed to take strict action and give justice to the students.

The University/Institute/College may develop a page on its website to register such complaints of caste discrimination by SC/ST students and may also maintain a complaint register in the office of the Registrar/Principal for this purpose.

If any such incident comes to the notice of the authorities, immediate action should be taken against the erring officers/faculty members.

Universities and colleges should ensure that no officer/faculty member discriminates against any community or category of students in any way.

The University may constitute a committee to investigate complaints of discrimination received from SC/ST/OBC students/teaching and non-teaching staff.

It has instructed the officers/faculty members of your university/institute to be more sensitive while dealing with incidents of discrimination on the basis of caste.

Due to the said circular, there is a possibility of controlling to some extent the type of caste-based discrimination faced by students pursuing higher education.

Aims and Objectives

To oversee the effective implementation of policies and programmes for the SC/ST/OBC, to provide guidance, counselling and resolve issues pertaining to the Caste Based Discrimination at Workplace and to enhance the diversity within the campus.

Functions

  1. To ensure equity and equal opportunity to the community at large in the University, College and bring about social inclusion.
  2. To enhance the diversity among the students, teaching and non-teaching staff population and at the same time eliminate the perception of Caste Based Discrimination at the Workplace.
  3. To help individuals or a group of students belonging to the SC/ST/OBC regarding issues related to Caste Based Discrimination at the Workplace.
  4. To sensitize the college on the problems of Caste Based Discrimination at the Workplace.
