Story of SSVMM
Founded
- Shri Siddhivinayak Mahila Mahavidyalaya was founded on 4th September 1990.
- Prof. Va.Bha. Joshi, the former Secretary of the mother Institute, took the initiative to establish this first unit of the MKSSS in Higher Education.
- The Commerce faculty started from the beginning while Arts faculty in June 1991
Donation
- In 1995-96, Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Trust, Prabhadevi donated Rs. 40 lakhs for the independent building construction of the college .
NAAC Accreditation and Permanent Affiliation
- The college was evaluated by the then newly started National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC) in 2003 and got B grade.
- The college received permanent affiliation in 2003-04 and is now eligible for grants from the University Grants Commission(UGC).
Post Graduation
- The Post Graduation in Arts and Commerce started in 2005-06. The college offers M.A. in Economics and English and M.Com. in Business Administration and Costing .
B.B.A. and NAAC Re-Accreditation(Second Cycle)
- B.B.A. started in 2008-09.
- In 2009, the college was re-evaluated by the National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC) and got a B grade.
Science Faculty
- B.Sc. started with specialization in Chemistry and Mathematics.
- In the same year, M.A. Mass Relation as well as M.Sc. Mass Communication started with the help of the School of Media , Activity and Research Technology (SMART) of the mother institute.
Computer Science
- B.Sc. Computer Science and B.Sc. Microbiology as a special subject started in 2014-15.
NAAC Re-Accreditation (Third Cycle)
- In 2017, the third NAAC evaluation of the college was conducted and the college got an A grade.
Research Centre
- The College was granted a Research Centre in Commerce by the affiliating university, Savitribai Phule Pune University. Business administration and Business Practices , Business Economics are the areas of research in which researchers can pursue their doctoral degree.
- Award in Environment
- The college has recently won an award for clean , plastic free campus______
- The College has an NSS and NCC unit in collaboration with BMCC, HHCP and COEP.
- It also has an active Sports department . Our students have not only played but have also won medals on National as well as International level.
- The College has been publishing an annual magazine , Palavi, since 1996.
- Our PG students get listed in the SPPU toppers list and Vina Shenoy has won a Gold medal.
- Various cultural activities such as Bhondala, Nag Panchami, Marathi Bhasha Din, Wachan Prerana Diwas are conducted enthusiastically in the college.
- Constitution Day, Voters Day, World Population Day , Environment Day are also observed.
- The College has a Zero Tolerence Policy towards Sexual harassment and Ragging.
- Government as well as Samstha-sponsored scholarships are given to deserving students

Principal Address:
The Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha, established by Bharat Ratna Maharshi Dhondo Keshav Karve, is a 127-year-old tradition in India that tirelessly works in the field of education and social development at the global level. Along with the Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha, the Shri Siddhivinayak Mahila Mahavidyalaya, which is under its authority, has been nurturing a tradition of excellence in higher education for the past 33 years. The college is also actively involved in research and social work. It is affiliated with the Savitribai Phule Pune University and has received numerous accolades, including an 'A' grade in the NAAC cycle four assessment. The college is now ready to adapt to the new educational policy of 2020. Upholding high ethical values and fostering a sense of national dedication among students, the college, through the National Service Scheme (NSS) and other initiatives, endeavors to provide continuous support and assistance to economically disadvantaged and deserving female students.
