The department of sociology established in 1996. Since then the department has grown manifolds. It offers a Three year degree program in B.A. Major Areas of teaching are: Social Problems, Crime and Society, Population Studies, Contemporary Indian Society. Social Research Methods etc. The department has produced innumerable scholars, administrators, professionals, social and political activists. The Department always organizes Guidance Talk, Debate, Elocution, Quiz and Poster Competitions etc. The Department also occasionally organizes Student Seminars, Picnics and Educational Tours and field visit are some the activities aims at disseminating of sociological knowledge helpful to have an exposure of its pedagogy and to get more knowledge to student of sociology. Currently the Department offers Sociology as a papers at the undergraduate level Marathi and English medium.

Department of Sociology participated in this activity This Sanstha visit activity was organized for the students to get detailed information about Maharishi Dhondo Keshav Karve's life, work, and history of the institution and also about the institution in which they have come to study.
